(8)Novelty Card Face Masks
Printed card face masks with an elastic strap, covering celebrities, public figures and film characters — Kate Middleton, a London tourist design, Mathew Horne, footballer Falcao and Star Wars Rogue One characters including Cassian and Baze. They are party props rather than costume-grade masks.
What are these actually used for?
Stag and hen parties, birthdays, and stands at football grounds, which is the tradition they come from — a whole row wearing the same face is the joke. They are single-occasion items: card creases, elastic stretches, and nobody keeps them. Buying one as a standalone gift rarely lands; buying a handful for an event is the point.
Will one fit an adult face?
These are cut on an adult template with a knotted elastic strap that can be shortened, and eye holes pre-cut. They sit in front of the face rather than fitting to it, so wearing glasses underneath is awkward and they are not intended to stay on for long periods.
