Gym bag or boot bag?

They look similar and are not interchangeable. A gym bag is the larger of the two and takes a full change of kit, a towel and trainers. A boot bag is smaller, ventilated and shaped for one muddy pair of boots — putting boots in a gym bag with clean clothes is the mistake that gets made once. If someone plays regularly, they need both.

Will wet kit ruin it?

These are lined polyester bags built for damp training gear, so they cope with it, but nothing survives being left packed for a week. Emptying and airing it after each session is what determines whether the bag lasts a season or three.
