One of the oldest collecting categories in football and still one of the deepest here. Enamel and metal crest badges make up most of it, with multi-pack button badge sets behind them, plus retro and anniversary designs. A single pin or a button set?

Single enamel pins are collectors' items — they go on a lanyard, a scarf or a board, and people buy them one at a time over years. Button badge multi-packs are the opposite: bought for a child, worn on a bag for a season, and not treated as precious. The retro crest designs sit with older supporters who remember the badge in that form.

How are enamel badges fixed?

These use a butterfly or rubber clutch fitting on a steel pin rather than a stick-on backing, so they hold through a match and can be moved between coats. It is the clutch, not the badge, that gets lost — worth knowing before pinning one to a school bag.
