The oldest piece of football merchandise there is, and still one of the most bought. Traditional bar scarves lead the range, alongside stripe, checked, crest and sherpa-lined designs, plus champions and commemorative editions. For the terrace or for the cold?

A classic bar scarf is a matchday object first — it is held up, worn over a coat, and it is not especially warm. Sherpa-lined and checked scarves are made to actually keep someone warm and suit a supporter who walks to the ground in February. If the recipient rarely attends games, the warmer designs get far more use.

Is it knitted or printed?

Bar scarves here are knitted, with the club name and stripes formed in the weave rather than printed on the surface — that is what allows them to be washed repeatedly without the lettering cracking, and it is the clearest tell against an unofficial scarf.
